Bel Air FIVE Project welcomes 4 Butterflies and a Moth

The Bel Air FIVE Project seeks to engage the whole town of Bel Air in planting native plants, especially the host and pollinator plants for the 4 butterflies and a moth we’re targetting! Learn more in the lobby of the Harford County Public Library-Bel Air Branch on April 30 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Be inspired at the Bel Air Armory on Tuesday, May 10, 6 p.m. with speaker Dr. Doug Tallamy, author of “Nature’s Best Hope” and “Bringing Nature Home.” (Pre-register on Eventbrite to guarantee a seat!)

Next, visit the Bel Air Garden Mart at the Armory on Friday, May 20 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. You can purchase Bel Air Five Host Plants at the Garden Mart.

Download the iNaturalist app so you can identify the butterflies and caterpillars that come to your garden or porch. Insects and plants identified upload automatically to the Maryland Biodiversity Project, so we can see the impact of our efforts.

Thank-you for caring about wildlife! These are the Bel Air Five and their Host Plants:
